In a nutshell, Couch to 5K is an amazing program designed to get you from couch potato to running a 5K race at the end of 9 weeks. When I started this back in April, I could barely jog for 60 seconds without becoming severly short of breath. But that was then and this is now. I am proud to say that I can run for 30 minutes! It is a goal I thought I'd never achieve. And the best part is that I love it!!
I had a lot of help along the way....MBR for first telling me about this program; BK for giving me high praise every time I updated her with my progress, whether it was 2 minutes, 5 minutes, or 25 minutes. The girls from MNT who were a good bit ahead of me in the program and gave me lots of encouragement to carry on even when it was tough.....thanks JH, EM, LR!! All of you were great inspiration.
I am officially done the program. Yes, I did start in April and it did take me longer than 9 weeks. But that's okay. I'd like to say since I reached that goal that I really don't need to prove myself by actually running a 5K race.
But I will. I've signed up for a race on September 5th. I'm so nervous. Wish me luck.
