Indeed!

No pictures this time but our weekend was jammed packed with fun stuff.

*3 year old birthday party for Matt's friend complete with bounce house and swimming.
*Graduation party for our friend's son.
*Basketball game.
*Out to dinner at a pizza place
*Brave-the movie
*Another basketball game
*Mass (in shifts)
*Retreat reunion picnic
*Family party to celebrate Bill's sister visiting from Florida.

*And the best part of all......News that a new addition to the family is on the way and will make his/her appearance in January!!  Bill's brother and sister in law are expecting their #2 and had their #1 wear a t-shirt that read, "I'm the big brother."  Happy news indeed!

Today was back to reality.  We spent the first 2 weeks of summer vacation chilling out.  Now it's down to business.  Remember the chore chart from last summer?  Well, the 2012 addition is here.

It needs to be tweaked a bit, but today it was successful.  Along with that, a trip to the library, book store to get our summer workbooks, and the grocery store....and no one complained.  A miracle indeed!

Something new I'm trying is to have one on one time with each child.  They get to pick the dinner they want and cook it with me.  Tonight was Tommy's turn, although in typical fashion there was not much one on one because someone always wants to "help."

Tommy learned how to peel carrots and how exactly I make Grandmom's chicken stew.  Hopefully one of the kids will turn into a culinary genius and I'll never have to cook again.

 Wishful thinking indeed!

  3. Letting them help in the kitchen is a great idea, Kathleen! But you're right...I think it's wishful thinking that one of them will take over :)
