Middle School

Bill and I just returned from a parent orientation for our oldest son Billy's new school.....the dreaded "Middle School". It was actually a nice night. The principal sounds like a good leader, seems to have his priorities straight, and seems very approachable if need be. And hopefully there will never be a "need-be" :)

Middle and School : when these two words are put side by side, parents seems to cringe. Have you noticed that? What is it that makes it so scary? Is it that the school is bigger? Or that the kids are reaching that bewitching age? Or that they have 6th, 7th, and 8th grade dances?!?! *GULP*. Whatever the reason, I sat there tonight in the cafeteria with all the other parents who I assume are all wanting the same for their children...a good education, a moral high ground, and a safe place where our children can grow.

I left there tonight feeling a sense of calm that I didn't expect to have. I'm actually looking forward to this journey with my son. I think he'll thrive there.

That's not to say I wouldn't go back to this day....First day of preschool : September 2004!!

  1. I love that picture!! So glad you have a peace about Middle School. You can't change the inevitable, so enjoy the ride! Besides, Billy has a good foundation; he will be fine!
