His hobbies include hammering nails into houses. He also plays hockey.
He is happiest when he drinks hot chocolate and eats hoagies and hamburgers, even though it gives him halitosis.
A few weeks ago paperwork came home telling the Kindergarten parents about the ABC Fashion Show. My heart sank a little because I have done this with my older ones and knew it was something that would most likely cause Matt some angst.
When I started telling Matt what it was all about, he said he didn't want to do it. He was given the letter "H". His job was to come up with "H" words that described a made-up character that he was to portray. We started brainstorming words that started with "H". With trepidation he agreed to hold a toy hammer and hockey stick. At the last minute he agreed to wear a tool belt as part of his costume.
He pulled it off beautifully. He smiled a big smile as he walked off the stage, feeling proud because the halitosis line got a lot of laughs from the parents. The fact that it was over might have played a part, too.
Hip-Hip, Hooray and Hallelujah!!
Hi Kathleen! I love all those 'h' words! Your son looks so adorable, and how sensitive you were to think about his worry. Love the safety glasses too.
ReplyDeleteIt just doesn't matter what age our kids are, they all have their anxieties over school or a new skill. You were there to help in a big way. Nice job, Mom!!
Blessings,
