Everyday Happenings

**Moms (and Pops) and Tots had their annual Easter Party and Egg Hunt.  In years past, more often than not, the weather does not cooperate and we have to hold the hunt indoors.  I don't think the little ones mind at all.

There was a craft, a story, food, and friends.

**It is no secret that I want to learn to take better pictures.  I know I could make my fancy camera sing if I would just buckle down and read the instruction manual or take a class.  The manual is so boring and I haven't had the chance to take a class.  I did get this from the library and hopefully we'll start seeing improvement soon.

Of course, I actually have to pick it up to learn from it, but I'm too busy reading....

**A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.  So far I like it.  It is book 3 on my list of 12 books in 12 months you see on my sidebar.  That was the goal I set at the beginning of the year.

I've also been reading aloud to all the kids at bedtime.  I've been borrowing from our parish library and so far we've read about St. Theresa of Lisieux and St. Catherine Laboure.  Right now we are reading about St. Thomas More.  The books are geared toward children.  I'm amazed that this has become something they ask for every night and they sit quietly most of the time.  Even Matthew, who at the start of this would say, "Ugh-not again!", now gets his pillow and stuffed animals and cuddles in with the rest of us.

It was Billy and Mary's turn to be on either side of me while I read. They say it's the best spot, but in reality they just like to pounce on me when I've read something incorrectly.  Meanie-heads.

**Found this on my pillow a few weeks back and had to take a picture of it.

They make me laugh.

**I may or may not post the rest of the week.  A lot of my blogging friends are taking Holy Week off to be, umm - holy.   I may follow suit.

If you don't hear from me, Have a Happy Easter!!

Everyday Happenings

*In my attempt to be more purposeful I have actually seen and felt results.  Going to bed earlier, drinking lots of water, and eating wisely have made me feel much better.  I've almost finished my January book.  (my goal was to read one book a month....sounds kind of pathetic, but that's a lot for me).  I still have two days and only a few chapters left.

*If the Special K diet promises you you'll lose 6 lbs in 2 weeks, can I expect to lose 12 lbs in 4 weeks?

And, can I substitute the two healthy snacks for one can of Pringles?

**I played two of my favorite games this week.  The first was Scrabble with Billy.  We had to play quickly because we were heading out the door for an appointment; otherwise I'm sure the words would have been much more impressive. (that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.)

The other game I played is called the Time Life game.  Have you ever seen those infomercials from Time- Life selling CD's of different kinds of music?  Well, whenever I see that's on TV I make Bill stop his channel surfing and indulge me in the game.  I close my eyes and guess the song and artist when the snippet of the song comes on and he tells me if I'm right or not.  I LOVE it.  I know, I'm weird.  Then I make him promise that if he's ever on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and there is a trivia question about music,  I MUST be his Phone-A-Friend Lifeline.  I'm THAT good.

**A couple of weeks ago I entered a giveaway contest on Elizabeth Ester's blog and I WON!!  How exciting.  It was for Votre Vu lip balm and hand cream combo.  The top part of the lid flips open and holds the lip balm and a mirror; the bottom part of the lid is the hand lotion.

Isn't that fun?  It smells really good too, like almonds.  The lotion works great on my dry hands.

**I have spent the last five days obsessing about what to do in the powder room.  I am the most indecisive person I know.  At least I think I am.
