School

Both our middle school and elementary school found evidence of mold over the last few weeks.  This delayed the opening of school by one day for Billy and Mary Kate.  They started Tuesday instead of Monday.

However, the elementary school is still waiting for the remediation process to be finished.  As of now, it will be after Labor Day.

Matthew, who has been very apprehensive about starting Kindergarten, has started easing up on the idea now that the wait is taking so long!  Exasperated he says, "When is the first day going to BE here?"

It has not been lost on me how lucky I am that I am at home and not needing to find childcare.  What a pain in the neck it must be for those parents who are working!

Fall baseball (who's idea was that, by the way?) and cross country have started.  We continue with band, orchestra, and piano.  CCD will start soon.  So, we are slowly getting back into a routine.

This has made a reappearance as well....revamped a bit.

Summer is over.  Time to get busy.

What a difference a week makes.

  1. Hi Kathleen! Wow...mold huh? That stinks. Literally and figuratively!

But it served its purpose to get your little one to look forward to school. Love that pic of the kids at the beach. A week does make shifts, and so it's on to all those sports and CCD. (We call it RE 'religious education' around here). New rhythms, but all good!

    Happy Thursday!

  2. Wow, Kathleen...that is something...hope all is fixed up soon and you can get into the swing of things.

And you are right...isn't it something how a week can make all the difference? We start on Tuesday. Can't wait to see how it goes! : )

    Good luck! : )

  3. Oh poo on mold! Yuck! So best wishes for the delayed start to the school year! And those schedules...we're limiting our kiddos to one thing each since I returned to part-time work this year. We'll see how things go and maybe next year we can add in some other things! Hugs.

  6. You have some incredibly beautiful children! I am glad the littles has some extra time getting used to the idea of kindergarten. It will be a piece of cake once he finally gets to go!

  7. Your children are beautiful
So happy that littles has a little more time to get used to the idea of starting kindergarten. It will be a piece of cake when he gets to go.
Cannot imagine how very busy your schedule is with 5 children. I feel like I am exhausted working and running after one each evening. You are my hero!
